2013 PARIS FASHION WEEK: FIERY HOT LOOKS by VALENTINO (RTW Spring 2014)

The Ready to wear 2014 collection by Valentino designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli showcased yesterday was indeed elegant, the eclectic mix of colours was beautiful with pretty embroidery, some out of the norm silhouettes yet very flattering on the female form. Had a regal feel too. The Grecian braids on the models with very subtle make-up was endearing. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli said they drew inspiration from the opera — more specifically, the Rome Opera — after visiting its ateliers last summer. Struck by its “traditions and techniques that are very close to the world of couture,” said Piccioli backstage, the designers decided it was the story “of Italy we want to tell.” This collection all together was very charming.
